The person I admire

Her name was Sara Benites

She was my first teacher of violin. The person who taught me to love music, and who made me dream with my violin.

She was born in Trujillo, Perú in 1950. When she was 10 she started to play the violin and when she was 25 she started to play in Lima's Symphony Orchestra. She arrived in Chile in 1990, and she started to teach through the Suzuki method in Santiago College School until 2016 when she died of cancer.

She was one of the most famous suzuki's violin teacher in Chile. She was recognized by great and important musicians, because she was dedicated to what she loved, teach children through music. She did her job with dedication and so much love. That is why I admire her.

She was my teacher for 10 years. She taught me to have patience, make friends, never discourage me, and above all, I learn of her inspiration, and dedicate my life to what I love; music!!

When she died I couldn't believe it. She was like a grandmother for me. I miss her very much, but I know she is taking care of me from the sky.

Every time that I play my violin I remember her.
